The US dollar was steady near a two-month high as the US-Iran standoff continued to push up oil prices and Treasury yields, while investors looked ahead to a data-packed week for further ‌clues about the path of central bank policy.

These were the latest deadly incidents at bars or taverns in a nation with one of the world’s highest murder rates.

A host of African leaders including the presidents of Ghana, Liberia, Kenya and Namibia demanded the change while the U.N. Secretary General said the lack of a permanent African seat was “indefensible.”
