A new California law says features like personalized recommendations can be “psychologically exploitative” for minors and cause them to check social media compulsively.
The billionaire told Meta’s board that he planned to list his Silicon Valley home for sale. The company remade its stock structure to help him pay the tax if voters pass it.

Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered the state to develop recommendations on safety measures, including requiring companies to build a “kill switch,” amid mounting concerns.
“We’re going to speed up our work on substantial and responsible A.I. oversight before it’s too late,” Gov. Gavin Newsom of California said in a news release.
