For more than five years, U Kyaw Moe Tun has refused to give up his United Nations post and a sandstone townhouse on the Upper East Side.

U Kyaw Moe Tun, in New York last month, was appointed as Myanmar’s ambassador to the United Nations before his country’s military staged a coup in 2021.
