AMD will bring FSR 4 to handhelds by the end of 2026

It's already possible to get AMD's framerate-enhancing FSR 4 boost on handhelds as old as the Steam Deck - but in June, AMD reserved the right to disappoint handheld gamers by not officially bringing FSR 4 to older handhelds. Now, AMD consumer chip boss Jack Huynh says he will bring the tech to some handhelds by the end of the year.

Which handhelds? It's still not clear if it will come to existing handhelds, or if you'll need a new one to get it - because it comes alongside news that AMD is releasing a new FSR4-capable chip.

"We will expand the machine learning AI-based FSR4 technology, which was first introduced to existing external graph …

How could that possibly work in virtual reality? It sounds like a formula for pain, nausea, distress. But no: Titanfall 2 VR is one of the top five VR games I've ever played - despite being a free mod, released by a solo developer, who's only spent a single month working on it so far.

Now I'm running on walls, blasting bad guys fr …

At $1,279, Google’s Xreal Aura will go head-to-head with Meta’s VR Glasses

Two weeks ago, journalists in the San Francisco Bay Area got to try two hot new wearables that weigh only around 100 grams: the just-revealed Meta VR Glasses, and the long-awaited transparent Google XR glasses built in partnership with Xreal. It turns out they're going head-to-head. Xreal has just opened Aura pre-orders starting at $1,279, $20 less than the Meta VR Glasses.

That's for the Xreal Aura with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage; there'll also be a 16GB / 512GB config for $1,499. (Xreal couldn't tell us whether the 16GB of RAM would be important for some apps by publish time.)

Both the Google / Xreal Aura and Meta's VR Glasses let …
